Those who come before us...

Those who come before us help pave the way to the top. Recently my friends and I hiked on Rainier. Last weekend, no snow. This weekend, quite the snow cover. Kicking steps to the ridge was fun, but slows one down a bit. About half way up, a big Elk had used our hiking trail to climb to the ridge at 5,700'. So, we used his hoof prints all the way to the top. We never saw him, but we sure liked him!
